Two coasts treated very differently. Mexico's Caribbean side for slow resort weeks and a few cenote afternoons; Costa Rica's Pacific for jungle, surf, and properties that have learned to disappear into the trees.

Choose carefully and the Riviera Maya is one of the most quietly luxurious coastlines within reach of Miami, adults-only, design-led, and deeply restorative.

Considered for the second half of the trip, after a city, before the flight home. Mallorca and the Amalfi Coast are the two Mediterranean registers we keep returning to: one for pine, sea air, and one perfectly long lunch; the other for cliffside roads, lemon groves, and a light on the water that justifies the flight on its own.

Mallorca's far northern cape is a cinematic landscape of pine, limestone, and Mediterranean light, and the quietest counterpoint to the island's busier south.

A coastline of clifftop villages, lemon terraces, and a particular quality of Mediterranean light that the photographs suggest but cannot quite prepare you for. Planned carefully, with the right base and a considered approach to the season, the Amalfi Coast is among the most quietly rewarding weeks available from Miami.

A first Japan trip, planned with restraint. Tokyo for two or three nights, Hakone for an onsen ritual, Kyoto for gardens and a quieter pace, sequenced for jet lag rather than against it.

A long-haul reset, planned as one act of stillness. The journey is real and the reward is an environment so quiet you remember, almost immediately, what unhurried feels like.
