Editorial
Our standards for the hotels, villas, retreats, and travel essentials that appear on Serene Luxe Retreats.
Serene Luxe Retreats exists for travelers who already know the loud places and are looking for something quieter. The pages here are written by a small editorial team that travels often, pays for most of what we publish, and treats craft, calm, and a sense of place as the actual amenities.
We monetize through affiliate links, including Amazon, travel booking partners, and a small number of brand relationships, and we disclose those clearly on every relevant page and in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Our Principles
01
Our editors are not paid by hotels, villas, or brands to publish. Affiliate partnerships exist, and we disclose them clearly, but they do not determine which properties or products we feature.
02
We prefer to write about places we have stayed and objects we have packed. Where a property is featured on a research basis, we say so plainly and lean on trusted, named sources.
03
We favour properties with a strong sense of place, refined design, and genuine restraint. We are not a list of the largest, the newest, or the most marketed.
04
Affiliate availability never moves a property onto the site. We write about hotels and brands that pay us nothing, and decline placements that conflict with our judgment.
05
If something is excellent at one thing and unsuited to another, we say so. A resort that is wonderful for couples is not necessarily right for families, and we make those distinctions explicit.
06
Travel changes. We revise destination guides as routes, ownership, and seasonal conditions shift, rather than letting old recommendations age silently.
